Prayer is Powerful
For many prayer is just a shopping list they give to God, or a recited poem or an opportunity to mention their loved ones. They really are not sure why they pray, or what happens when they pray. Maybe you wonder if God even hears your prayer.
Prayer doesn't need to be this complicated beautiful speech to God. Actually just like we learned with Connor today, Jesus taught us to pray a simple prayer to God.
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
Your Kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen
Prayer is powerful and when you pray God is going to do something. God can change any situation in your life that needs changing; we need to pray to God about everything.
Philippians 4:6 Tells us not to worry about anything but pray about everything.
What we need to do is tell God about everything and thank him for all that he has done. If you pray you will have God's peace, it's his peace that will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Remember prayer isn't just about talking to God it's also about listening to him! God wants you to pray to Him everyday, because he loves you very much!
Our Memory Verse this week is:
“The prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results.”
James 5:16
