God Loves You
The word love is one of those words we mostly use to describe how we feel about something. "I love ice cream!" " I love my car!" "I love my sister." People seem to love everything. The thing is love is not a feeling, but an action. Love is something we show with our actions, not our words. God loves you so much. He demonstrated it most by sending his son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. He showed us he loved us because the only way we could spend forever in heaven with God is if Christ died for us. We all have sinned and without Jesus sin leads to death. That's the whole point of Easter that Christ died a terrible horrible death to remove our sin that stood between us and God. The story doesn't end with Jesus' death. After three days of being in the tomb Jesus rose back to life. Proving he defeated death, and sin. Nothing is stronger than God. Not even death. God loves you so much and he has done so much to show us his love. You have to choose if you will love him back. Not with just your words, but your actions. Will you decide to live for God? Will you accept and believe what Jesus did on the cross? Today you can decide to say "Jesus thank you for dying for my sins, I believe you died on the cross and rose again. Help me to live for you! I love you Jesus!" Remember God loves you!
Our Memory Verse this week is:
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8
