The Fruit Of The Spirit Is Love
Love is the fruit of the spirit we probably talk about most, and maybe the most important. Jesus said in Matthew 22:37-40,
“‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
The greatest commandments are love God and love your neighbor! That sounds pretty important!
It's also the most misused word. "I LOVE ice cream" "I LOVE that movie" "We LOVE to go to the park" "I LOVE YOU"
See love isn't a feeling. It's a choice. It's not those warm and fuzzy's. It's choosing to help others even when you don't feel like it. Or choosing to live for God even when your friends aren't. In our bible story today the Samaritan man chose to show love to the Jewish man even though they were enemies! That's choosing to love!
Our Memory Verse this week is:
“But the fruit of the spirit is love…”
Galatians 5:22
