Set Aside A Day For God
In the course of one week we go through so many things. This is what last week looked like for me:
Monday I had a test.
Tuesday I got into an argument with a friend.
Wednesday my mom had a hard day.
Thursday had to clean out my closet.
Friday I crashed my Bike
Saturday I lost my basketball game.
You could call those hard things burdens. We all have burdens and they can really pile up. Sometimes the burdens in our lives get so big we can't see all the good that God is doing in our lives too.
Every week will have it's own burdens and if we don't set time aside for God, one whole day. Then those burdens will really weigh us down.
If we give God a day it gives him time to show us love and comfort. He will give us peace. He will help give us wisdom and understanding. Instead of being tired and empty. He will refuel us for the next week.
So how do you give a day to God? Ask your parents to help you find one day that you all can rest. Then start when you wake up and tell God "I give my day to you. Thank you God for a day of rest." Then open up your bible and read it, or ask someone to read it to you. It can be one verse, but I challenge you to read until you find something that stands out then talk to God about it. Spend the rest of your day resting, eating good food, and doing something fun. Just make sure you invite God into every moment.
If one day seems impossible start with one night during your week.
God loves you and wants to spend time with you. Remember to set aside a day for God.
Our Memory Verse this week is:
“Remember to keep the Sabbath day holy.”
Exodus 20:8
