The Devil Wants To Lock You Up In Fear
During this time of year people seem to like being afraid, but fear is no joke! Maybe you're afraid of heights, or the dark, or rats, or making friends, or public speaking! Fear is one of the devil's favorite tools to distract us from God. Being afraid isn't wrong but it's how we respond to that fear. If we try to run away and hide then we aren't trusting that God will be there for us. Fear doesn't come from God. God wants you to have power, love, and peace! 2nd Timothy 1:7 says:
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
So if you're scared of making friends or public speaking, next time you're fearful remember God gave you power to love others and to tell others about Jesus!
If you're scared of the dark or of being alone remember God wants you to have peace. He will never leave alone. He's always there with you.
You can trust that nothing is bigger or more powerful than God. Not the monsters on tv, or sin, or death. Especially not the devil! God will always take care of you!
Next time you feel afraid just ask God to be there for you, and he will!
Our Memory Verse this week is:
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 2nd Timothy 1:7
